MUSIC IN WORSHIP

Great are You Lord

As I rise, strength of God
Go before, lift me up
As I wake, eyes of God
look upon, be my sight

As I wait, heart of God
Satisfy and sustain
As I hear, voice of God
Lead me on, be my guide
Be my guide

Chorus X 2

Above and below me
Before and behind me
In every eye that sees me
Christ be all around me

And as I go, Hand of God
My defense, by my side
And as I rest, breath of God
Fall upon, bring me peace
Bring me peace

Chorus X2

Christ be all around me
Christ be all around me

Bridge X4
Your life, Your death
Your blood was shed
For every moment
Every moment
Christ be all around me
Christ be all around me

Children are dismissed to Sunday School

And I will sing of Your goodness forevermore

CLOSING SONG

Lord, I Need You

Lord I come, I confess
Bowing here, I find my rest
Without You, I fall apart
You’re the one that guides my heart

Chorus
Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour, I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep, Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
Where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

Chorus

Bridge
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand, I’ll fall on You
Jesus, You’re my hope and stay

Chorus

My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

BLESSING

Welcome to the Table

Come to this table not because you must but because you may
Not because you are strong but because you are weak
Come not because of any goodness of your own gives you the right to come but because you need mercy and help
Come because you’ve a little and you would like to live even more
Come because God loves you
Come and meet the risen Christ for He is the bread of life

Confession

“ The sad irony of our day is that we can be deeply committed to being a
Christian but not deeply formed by Christ” Rich Villodas.
(Congregation joins in where text is bold)

O Lord, you are our shepherd,
and yet we sometimes live like sheep without a shepherd.
We lie down when we could act,
We stir the pot when we could offer peace,
We wander tempting paths instead of following you.
We seek courage and comfort in earthly things rather than in you.
We hate our enemies and refuse to break bread with them,
We see scarcity even when you offer us abundance.
Forgive us, we pray.
May we dwell with You forever. Amen.

Jesus says: 29 “Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
– Matt 11:29-30

Confession

We come together around this table of memories. It is not that we deserve to be here. This is not a right to be earned. This is not a reward to be achieved. This is a gift which can only be accepted from our forgiving and generous God.

We proclaim the mystery of our faith:

Christ was birthed among us.
Christ was killed among us.
Christ rises again among us.

It was at a table like this that Jesus shared His last meal with His followers.

We lift the bread as He did. We break it as He did. And we share it remembering His words:

“My body is broken for you. Eat and remember me.”

We also lift the cup as He did. And we share it remembering His words:

“My blood flows for you. Drink and remember me”.

“Go into all the world,” said Jesus;
We go to make His loving words heard.

“What you do for the least, you do for Me,” said Jesus;
We go to make His loving deeds seen.

“I will never drive away any who come to me,” said Jesus;
We go to make His loving invitation known.

May the love of God, the Three-in-One, fill our hearts and make us
one with God, and with all of God’s children,

And may we grow in that love now and always. Amen
