Here’s a slice of what camp is like!
Youth Summer Camp
It’s time for our youth to register for summer camp. We all look forward to joining hundreds of other youth across California in the beautiful Sierra-Nevada mountains for a week with FUGECAMPS. Camp is a time when friendship with God and among our youth are forged for the first time or deepen in pivotal ways. We ask questions, worship God with friends, play a ton of games, and stay up way too late.
When: July 29 – Aug 3, 2024
Who: 6th-12th grade students
Cost: $535 (this include camp fees, transportation, and lunches up on the way up and down)
*More below about fundraising and affording camp

Fundraising for Camp
If you want to come to camp, we don’t want the cost of camp to prevent you from coming with us. As such, in the spring, we will be fundraising for camp together as a group. In the past, we’ve held a homemade tamale fundraiser that has been very successful. We will brainstorm together as a group and see what we want to take on and what our fundraising goals are. Typically, the funds raised have covered about $150-200 of camp fees.
The remaining balance after deposit and fundraising is due June 15, 2024. If you are still concerned about
being to afford the balance of camp fees, please note that in your registration.
CAMP FAQ’s
Camp Location
We will be going to Jenness Park for FugeCamps. Jenness Park is located in Cold Springs, CA. It is about a 3 hours drive from Pacifica, just past Sonora in the Sierra-Nevada mountains.
Jenness Park offers great outdoor recreation ranging from backpacking to a lake with paddleboats. Jenness also offers paint ball ($20 for each round), laser tag ($5 per game), archery tag ($10 per game), zip line, climbing wall, and leap of faith. In addition to an intimate auditorium and comfortable dining hall (with some of the BEST camp food you will find anywhere in the country), Jenness Park also has a general store, coffeehouse, indoor game area and lighted amphitheater.
What Can I Expect At Camp?
Camp is a high energy experience. You’ll meet lots of new people, stay active with games and other activities, and get some but not a lot of sleep. It is a ton of fun especially as you meet people your age who love God and are curious Jesus. The camp counsellors are college age students or have recently graduated from college. Getting to know these awesome young adults is undoubtedly the highlight of camp.
The camp day starts at 7:30am with a warm and filling breakfast. There are two whole camp gatherings each day – after breakfast and after dinner. This is when we worship God through song and hear a few words from the camp pastor. The rest of the morning we break up into smaller camp groups and learn through games and discussion.
After lunch, campers spilt up into different tracks of their choosing. Here are some of the tracks that you might expect at camp:
Adventure Track, Basketball, Battleball, Crafts, Creative Journaling, Creative Movement, Creative Painting, Defending Your Faith, Disc Golf, Drama, For Girls Only, Gagaball, Games Track, Growing Your Faith, Guitar, Hiking, Kickball, Lawn Games, Leadership 101, Life After High School, Percussion, Random Acts of Service, Sharing Your Faith, Sign Language, Soccer, Spiritual Gifts, STEM Track, The Man Track, Total Body Fitness, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, Water Games, Worship Leadership.
*Track times offered are subject to change and depend on the size of camp for the session attending.
Before dinner, you’ll have some free time to chill and hang out with some of the new friends you’ve met. There are kayaks to be paddled, snacks to be eaten, a lake to be dipped in, and even a ropes course to be scaled among other things.
In the evenings, there are a variety of night life activities that are optional to participate in before we try to settle in for the night around 11pm.
What Does a Camp Day Look Like?
Here is a schedule of what a typical day at camp looks like.
What’s Expected of Me at Camp?
There is no expectation that you are a Christian to go to camp. In fact, there are many youth who attend camp who aren’t sure what they think of Jesus, but they’re curious to find out more about Jesus. Other’s are looking to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Others some because they have been promised a fun week. We invite you to come with openness, curiosity. Wherever you are on the journey of faith is absolutely okay.
However, we expect campers to participate in camp activities and to stay with their camp groups during activity time and with their church groups at other times.
And of course to keep everyone feeling safe and respected, we expected each camper to respect camp rules and to care for one another.
What is the Housing Like at Camp?
You will be housed in dorms within small cabins. Linens are not provided, so you’ll have to bring sheets, pillow, and a blanket or sleeping bag. There are sinks in each cabin, and detached bathrooms and toilets nearby.
